Fans of rock band ‘Tool’ will have heard of frontman Maynard James Keenan. But who is Lei Li Keenan?

Lei Li Keenan is the daughter of Maynard James Keenan and was born on 25th July 2014. Her mother shares the same name and is married to Maynard James Keenan.

As the child of a celebrity, it’s natural that Lei Li Keenan would be a source of interest for many.

Her father, Maynard James Keenan, is an American musician known for singing and writing music for rock bands Puscifer, Tool, and A Perfect Circle.

Whilst fans are eager for news of the celebrity child, Maynard is notoriously private and news of the child, other than her birth, hasn’t been forthcoming.

The birth of Lei Li Agostina Maria was announced in an Instagram post by Maynard, which included details of her birth. 

She’s named after her mother but also after her grandmother, reportedly, and Lei Li is said to mean “night nocturnal”.

Interestingly, Maynard’s band Puscifer released a song called ‘Agostina’ in 2015 to welcome his baby girl which featured the lyrics, “Hey, hello, a joy to finally meet you, Hey, hello, Agostina, Agostina, Lei Li Maria”.

She was born on 25th July, 2014, at exactly 7:19pm, with a birth weight of seven pounds. To continue the symmetry of numbers, in a seemingly perfect interference from fate, Lei Li was 19 inches. 

This numeric coincidence didn’t pass Maynard by and he drew attention to it in his proud Instagram post.

In the only photo to be seen of the youngster, the one taken shortly after her birth, Lei Li is repping her Dad’s band Puscifer by wearing a onesie with the band’s logo on the front in red.

Those interested in getting a glimpse of the celebrity daughter will have to hope Maynard begins sharing some photos of his daughter in the future. However, he’s known for being reclusive, as well as controlling his public image and access to his private life so this may be unlikely.

It is entirely understandable that her parents would want to keep her out of the limelight, but as she grows older she might start to make appearances, like her half-brother Devo.

Devo is Maynard’s son from his previous marriage, and was born on August 5, 1995. He’s even made a few appearances in his Dad’s bands playing the cello, so maybe Lei Li will follow in his footsteps.

Maynard romantically proposed to his wife, also called Lei Li, at the top of the Empire State Building on the observation deck. Though details of their wedding have remained private, he’s since referred to her as his wife, so they clearly tied the knot at some point soon after.

As is consistent with the rest of their private lives, not much is known about Lei Li or their relationship, other than that she worked as the lab manager of Caduceus Cellars, Maynard’s winery. The proud parents keep their family lives firmly under wraps.

As for Lei Li’s start to life, her father is a successful winery owner who lives in Jerome, Arizona, presumably with his family.

It’s likely that Lei Li has grown up becoming familiar with her parents’ vineyard and winery which are both located in Arizona. Maynard said in an interview, that the area is a “prime spot for vineyards. An untapped resource”.

It’s been a while since news circulated of Lei Li Agostina Maria Keenan but when she makes her next appearance, it’s sure to create quite a stir.
