A man has been charged with murder after another man was allegedly stabbed to death at a suburban home during a confrontation.

The 24-year-old was arrested in Canberra after he allegedly fled following the altercation at a home in St Clair in western Sydney last Friday.

Youhanna Angok died at the house in Parroo Close despite the efforts of police and paramedics to save his life.

Mr Angok was found an unconscious and seriously injured about 4.30pm following reports of an altercation at the property.

“Police conducted CPR until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics, and despite their efforts, the man died at the scene,” the statement read.

Two female occupants at the home at the time were not injured.

The alleged attacker fled the area on a dirt bike and was arrested in the Canberra of Bruce on Monday.

He was then taken to Queanbeyan Police Station in the company of NSW detectives where he was charged with murder.

He has been refused bail.

He will appear in Queanbeyan Local Court on Wednesday following his extradition to NSW on Tuesday.
