Gary Neville and Roy Keane play 'keep, last straw or ditch' with Manchester United squad

Gary Neville and Roy Keane want three big-money signings out of Manchester United.

The Red Devils legends revealed who they would like to see remain at Old Trafford and who they want to leave the club in a game of ‘keep, last straw, or ditch'.

On the Stick to Football podcast, both Neville and Keane mostly agreed in their opinions.

Placed in the 'keep' category were: Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, Bruno Fernandes, Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount - along with boss Erik ten Hag.

Man United forward Marcus Rashford was also included in the section by Neville, although Keane said the England striker is on his 'last straw' at United and must start stepping up to the plate.

The 26-year-old netted 30 goals last season but has managed to score just twice in the Premier League this time around.

Keane remarked: “Marcus [Rashford] is 26, when is the penny going to drop for him?”

Ten Hag also spoke about the striker ahead of Saturday's clash against Bournemouth, and said: "Rashford is an incredible, good player.

"You can't do it with 11 players. He can't play every game and he's not, in this moment, in the form he was last year but I am sure he will get there.

Another player to fall into that category, according to Keane, was England left-back Luke Shaw.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana, whose poor displays have left little confidence in the Cameroon international, headed up the 'last straw' section by both pundits.

Scott McTominay is another player under that heading, although his recent form and two goals against Chelsea seem to have handed him a lifeline.

The ‘ditch’ category made for great reading, with both in agreement about eight United stars whose time at Old Trafford is up - including three signings that cost the club over £200million combined.

Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Antony, Christian Eriksen, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Sofyan Amrabat, and Jonny Evans all faced the axe in Neville and Keane's list.

One player who split opinion was Casemiro, given that Neville described him as on his 'last straw', while Keane opted to ‘keep’.

The Brazil international, who is now 31, could form part of an exodus of names to leave as Ten Hag continues to re-shape his squad.
