Nigerian music sensation Davido and former NFF President Amaju Pinnick have opted for an out-of-court settlement. The debacle began when Pinnick‘s Brownhill Investment Company Limited took Davido to court, claiming he breached their contract.
Picture this: it all started back in March 2023 when Davido‘s team inked a deal to perform at the ‘Warri Again‘ concert. However, Davido pulled a no-show, citing another gig down under in Australia. This led to raised eyebrows and, eventually, to the courtroom.
Fast-forward to now, and we’re hearing a different tune. A Delta State high court greenlit the out-of-court settlement, bringing peace to the proceedings. As part of the deal, Davido agreed to cough up N30 million to Pinnick within a week and strut his stuff at this year’s ‘Warri Again‘ concert in October.
But hold up, that’s not all. Davido‘s also waving the white flag on his appeal against a court ruling earlier this year. And in a nice touch, Pinnick‘s sorting out all the logistics for Davido‘s performance, including a swanky private jet ride and comfy accommodations.
This whole saga’s been a rollercoaster, with Brownhill Event Centre demanding a cool N70 million refund for Davido‘s no-show at a previous ‘Warri Again‘ shindig. But with this settlement, both sides are ready to call it a day and move on.
