DaBaby has offered fans an alternative to throwing their phones onstage during concerts, which has become a trend these days.

TMZ caught up with the Charlotte rapper while shopping in Beverly Hills earlier this week where he suggested fans use their phones to stream his music rather than toss them like a football.

“Throwing phones? That’s terrible. You about to throw your phone? That’s terrible. I don’t think phones should be thrown. I think phones should be used to CALL DA FIREMAN,” he said in reference to his three-track EP. “She a hot girl, come and shake something.”

The discussion was sparked by pop star Bebe Rexha who needed stitches and had to cut her New York City concert short over the weekend after being hit above the eye with a cell phone.

NYPD’s initial investigation found that 27-year-old Nicolas Malvagna intentionally threw the phone because he thought “it would be funny” and was hoping she’d take a selfie with it.

“I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny,” the New Jersey native told the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. Malvagna has been hit with charges of assault and harassment.

DaBaby has had to dodge items being flung in his direction as well. He famously dodged a fan’s shoe that nearly rocked him in the head while he was performing at Rolling Loud Miami in 2021.

On the heels of dropping off his CALL DA FIREMAN EP in May, DaBaby kept busy and fed fans with a freestyle over JAY-Z‘s 2003 smash, “PSA (Public Service Announcement).”

“Allow me to reintroduce myself, n-gga it’s Kirk/ And I’m finna stop letting these n-ggas call me dat Baby shit/ My brother took his life in 2020/ Momma gave him life in ’86/ She greatly missed/ 2019 hit the rap game/ Finally made a hit/ She told come here put a baby in it/ She gave me kiss/ I saved the bitch,” he raps over the classic instrumental.
