Aldi shoppers have spoken and named their favourite products from the German supermarket.

Aldi’s annual People’s Picks Awards saw 380,000 Australians vote across categories such as Australian made favourite, lunch box item and cleaning product.

One product that has proved popular again is the Ready, Set … Cook! Boneless Butterflied RSPCA Approved Chicken, which comes in Spiced Mango, Greek Style and Spicy BBQ and costs $9.99 per kilo.

Last year the chicken won in the “Time Lord” category, which is dedicated to ready-to-eat meals, but this year it took out the “socialite” category, which is for products that have been posted frequently on social media.

Instead, the Time Lord category was won by Seasons Pride Potato Gratin 4pk/400g, $4.99, with one social media user saying: “I love these. Have been buying them for a number of years from Aldi. Everyone loves them.”

Another said: “These are awesome! We always have a packet of plain and a packet with added veggies in our freezer.”

Other winners include the $7 Jindurra Station Porterhouse Steak 200g, which won the BBQ category, the $2.29 Deli Originals Fresh Hommus 200g, which won the party category, and Yoguri Protein Yoghurt 160g, which won the health category.

The Partner In Grime category, which is dedicated to cleaning products, was taken out by the $3.69 Di-San Laundry Soaker 1kg, which is available in Ultra White or Pro Oxy. It’s the first time the laundry soaker has won the category, although other Di-San items have taken the top spot in the past.

Snackers Market Colby Cheese & Rice Crackers 4pk took out the win in the lunch box category for the first time, while, in a brand new category called Aussie Made Fave, Specially Selected Australian Beef 21 Days Aged Eye Fillet Steak, $48.99 per kg took out the gong.

“We love that The People’s Picks gives our customers the opportunity to have their say when it comes to their Aldi foodie favourites and household must-haves,” Kylie Warnke, Aldi Australia’s shopping expert, said.

“Great quality products at amazing prices are in abundance at Aldi so it’s always so exciting for us to see what products get the ultimate seal of approval from our customers each year.”

“We’ve also had some products that are returning to the winners list including our Deli Originals Fresh Hommus in The Life of the Party category for the second year in a row,” she said.

“Our Ready Set … Cook! Boneless Butterflied Chicken has retained its winner’s title however this time it’s taken first place in one of our new categories – The Socialite, officially making it the most viral Aldi product of the year.”
